Social Media

I never thought I would be one to totally embrace social media. But lately, it seems I can get enough of it.

I've had Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr accounts for a few years now. Since I don't live where most of my family and friends do, I feel lost if I don't check in on Facebook daily to see what they are up to. Until recently, I didn't use Twitter much, usually only checking in the during the weeks the NASCAR races were it town to see where the drivers were making appearances around town. Over the past several months though, I've found myself on Twitter daily. I've tweeted more in the past few months than in the previous two years combined. As for Flickr, I find I usually only post when I've been somewhere where I've taken tons of pictures.

I've now expanded to Pinterest, Instagram, and here on Blogger, linking the accounts to each other when the option is available. A couple of months ago, I listened to a podcast discussing Pinterest, referring to it as "digital crack". I figured I'd give it a try, though I have to say I haven't reached the "digital crack" stage yet. I haven't posted to Instagram yet...I guess I just haven't found that "shot" I thought others would find interesting. As for Blogger, you're reading my maiden post. I'm not sure what is to come in terms of my posts, but I hope you enjoy them.
